I sit and stare as the music
Tears the shingles I’ve been using
To hide my sight from the phantom of that night
Hanging beneath the tree of knowledge
I had only a second
To chance and to beckon
Your sight and your mind to my sign
Hanging in my closet four nights
But you gave
And you took
With a gaze
And a book
You prayed to me my friend
May there be
One less reason to end
On a course that is not retractable
One less reason to live
In a mind that’s inconceivable
Nothing can be said and done
We are who we have now become
But the children have a chance
To live by a different chant
To eat a different plant
To find a natural dance
With the planet and all that’s in it
That’s what Christ had said, isn’t it?
A world fill with peace
Where we all can feast
And not one is left to beg
That’s where one of the stories end
But that’s not the one we’ve found a trend
Of investing and enslaving
For a gluttonous excavating
Of our mothers most beautiful pearls
And we trade them away as jewels
But all the sounds
Of millennial’s of time
Can be traced back to ones
That act without knowing what to try
And we create such a cesspool
Of lust and half felt lies
Of tried and measures true
That maintain a level that you
Must invest in to be found eligible at your time
When you touch their face
With no thought to wait and trace
The lips you leave for the very last time
Oh, I’ve thought of this so plainly
With a pet, a spouse, a family
The sober reality that dust is the only thing left
But to lose someone
That you never thought found
Peace in the thought of taking a last breath
And to have sworn
He would try to warn
Especially being my same attempt at death
God, this is so unfair
God, do you even fucking care?
God, was that really the last time?
God, can’t you trade his heart for mine?
My lungs are already
Frozen in so many
breathes fill with smoke and screams
My mind is already
Adapted and squarely
Focused on attacking anything
My heart is already
Fucking broken and heavy
Why the hell him and not me?
But as I’m dug in the trench
Of self pity and stench
Bombs spiraling in consistency
I look at your life
And each person who’s eyes
Are filled with the scent of your smoke
There was something almost unnatural
The feeling of being invincible
Being heard, seeing, believing
Everything's not lost
You look back to my thoughts
And whisper so gently
May there be
One less reason to end
On a course that is not retractable
One less reason to live
In a mind that’s inconceivable
Nothing can be said and done
We are who we have now become
But the children have a chance
To live by a different chant
To eat a different plant
To find a natural dance
With the planet and all that’s in it
Learn the science, learn the language
Shout and scream like a raging tangent
Never stop till you feel it all
There’s still shore when you sink under the wall
They could live in a church made of green
A river flowing becomes the composer when they sing
And in it all we can finally know what it means
To live freely with minds grown like trees
Falling back in
The texture within
The soil, rocks and clay
Growing up swift
An open context
What would natural humans make
The culture, the pastures
The animals and their masters
Found equal in emotional respect
The Mothers, the Fathers
The unwedded daughters
Living un-heedlessly wherever they are lead
Goddammit, I know it’s possible
And if we make it probable
I want to stick around and see it unfurl
Because a generation that’s conscious
Could unravel all of this
Going back, the first thought that rippled
The way the world wants to be
The world that I beg of life to see
Daniel, please tell me
Could we live and be proud of our history
I imagine him sitting peacefully
Waiting for the break to my symphony
And answering me with eyes unwaveringly
May there be
One less reason to end
On a course that is not retractable
One less reason to live
In a mind that’s inconceivable
Nothing can be said and done
We are who we have now become
But the children have a chance
To live by a different chant
To eat a different plant
To find a natural dance
With the planet and all that’s in it
Without the traumas that now inhibits it
May we dream of a world befitting this
